DIRECTORS MEETING
Meeting of the Directors of the Lynchburg Glass Corporation was held in the Directors Room of the Peoples National Bank, Friday, April 4th, 1924 at 11 A. M. with the following present:
N. D. Eller
J. D. Owen
J. William Gayner
W. H. Loyd
C. L. Snidow
R. C. Watts
The President stated that the meeting was called to discuss the advisability of closing down the plant instead of running under the present curtailed production.
The President submitted schedules showing the estimated costs of blocking the tank with fuel oil and with producer gas. He discussed the difference in resulting losses in each instance as compared with the present schedule, and as the figures on running with oil and producer gas were so nearly the same, he thought it better to block with producer gas as this would enable the company to retain some of the men needed in running tanks and producers.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously passed, the officers were instructed to close down the plant, blocking with producer gas.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
